26 Hadith

الرَّاحِمُونَ يَرْحَمُهُمُ الرَّحْمَنُ، ارْحَمُوا مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَرْحَمْكُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ

Those who are merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One in the heavens will have mercy upon you.

Abdullah ibn AmrSunan Abu Dawud & Tirmidhi

مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ

He who does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.

Jarir ibn AbdullahSahih Bukhari & Muslim

فِي كُلِّ كَبِدٍ رَطْبَةٍ أَجْرٌ

In every living being there is a reward.

مَنْ كَانَ فِي حَاجَةِ أَخِيهِ كَانَ اللَّهُ فِي حَاجَتِهِ، وَمَنْ فَرَّجَ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ كُرْبَةً فَرَّجَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرُبَاتِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

Whoever fulfills the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs. Whoever removes a hardship of a Muslim, Allah will remove one of the hardships of the Day of Judgment from him.

Ibn UmarSahih Bukhari & Muslim

ارْحَمُوا مَنْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَرْحَمْكُمْ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاءِ

Have mercy on those on earth, and the One in the heavens will have mercy on you.

Abdullah ibn AmrSunan Abu Dawud

مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي تَوَادِّهِمْ وَتَرَاحُمِهِمْ وَتَعَاطُفِهِمْ مَثَلُ الْجَسَدِ إِذَا اشْتَكَى مِنْهُ عُضْوٌ تَدَاعَى لَهُ سَائِرُ الْجَسَدِ بِالسَّهَرِ وَالْحُمَّى

The example of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.

An-Numan ibn BashirSahih Bukhari & Muslim

مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ

Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.

Abu HurairahSahih Bukhari & Muslim

لَا تَحَاسَدُوا، وَلَا تَنَاجَشُوا، وَلَا تَبَاغَضُوا، وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا، وَكُونُوا عِبَادَ اللَّهِ إِخْوَانًا

Do not envy one another, do not artificially inflate prices, do not hate one another, do not turn away from one another, and be servants of Allah as brothers.

Anas ibn MalikSahih Bukhari & Muslim

مَنْ عَفَا وَأَصْلَحَ فَأَجْرُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ

Whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, his reward is with Allah.

Abdullah ibn AmrQuran 42:40

مَنْ كَفَلَ يَتِيمًا لَهُ أَوْ لِغَيْرِهِ فَأَنَا وَهُوَ كَهَاتَيْنِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ

Whoever takes care of an orphan, whether for himself or for others, he and I will be like these two in Paradise - and he gestured with his index and middle fingers.

Abu HurairahMusnad Ahmad

أَطْعِمُوا الطَّعَامَ، وَأَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ، وَصَلُّوا بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّاسُ نِيَامٌ، تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ بِسَلَامٍ

Feed people, spread the greeting of peace, pray at night when people are sleeping, and you will enter Paradise in peace.

Abdullah ibn SalamSunan al-Tirmidhi

لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ: رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَسُلِّطَ عَلَى هَلَكَتِهِ فِي الْحَقِّ، وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْحِكْمَةَ فَهُوَ يَقْضِي بِهَا وَيُعَلِّمُهَا

There should be no envy except in two cases: a person whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it in the right cause, and a person whom Allah has given wisdom and he judges and teaches with it.

Abdullah ibn MasudSahih Bukhari

إِصْلَاحُ ذَاتِ الْبَيْنِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ عَامَّةِ الصَّلَاةِ وَالصِّيَامِ وَالصَّدَقَةِ

Making peace between people is better than much of prayer, fasting, and charity.

Abu DardaSunan Abu Dawud

مَنْ سَتَرَ مُسْلِمًا سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ

Whoever conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah will conceal his faults in this world and the Hereafter.

Abu HurairahSahih Muslim

خَيْرُ الْمَجَالِسِ مَا اسْتُقْبِلَ بِهِ الْقِبْلَةُ

The best gatherings are those that face the Qiblah.

Abu HurairahMusnad Ahmad

مَنْ دَعَا لِأَخِيهِ بِظَهْرِ الْغَيْبِ قَالَ الْمَلَكُ: وَلَكَ بِمِثْلٍ

Whoever supplicates for his brother in his absence, the angel says: And for you the same.

Abu DardaSahih Muslim

تَبَسُّمُكَ فِي وَجْهِ أَخِيكَ صَدَقَةٌ

Your smile in the face of your brother is charity.

Abu DharrSunan al-Tirmidhi

النَّصِيحَةُ حَقُّ الْمُسْلِمِ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِ

Sincere advice is the right of a Muslim over another Muslim.

Tamim al-DariSahih Muslim

مَنْ نَفَّسَ عَنْ مُؤْمِنٍ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرَبِ الدُّنْيَا نَفَّسَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُرْبَةً مِنْ كُرَبِ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ

Whoever relieves a believer of distress in this world, Allah will relieve him of distress on the Day of Resurrection.

Abu HurairahSahih Muslim

لَيْسَ الْمُؤْمِنُ بِالَّذِي يَشْبَعُ وَجَارُهُ جَائِعٌ

The believer is not one who eats his fill while his neighbor goes hungry.

Anas ibn MalikAl-Adab al-Mufrad (Bukhari)

مَا نَقَصَ مَالٌ مِنْ صَدَقَةٍ

Wealth is never decreased by charity.

Abu HurairahSahih Muslim

يَا غُلَامُ، سَمِّ اللَّهَ، وَكُلْ بِيَمِينِكَ، وَكُلْ مِمَّا يَلِيكَ

O boy, mention the Name of Allah, eat with your right hand, and eat from what is near you.

Umar ibn Abi SalamahSahih Bukhari & Muslim

لَا تَحْقِرَنَّ مِنَ الْمَعْرُوفِ شَيْئًا وَلَوْ أَنْ تَلْقَى أَخَاكَ بِوَجْهٍ طَلْقٍ

Do not belittle any good deed, even meeting your brother with a cheerful face.

Abu DharrSahih Muslim

مَنْ كَانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيُكْرِمْ ضَيْفَهُ

Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should honor his guest.

Abu HurairahSahih Bukhari & Muslim
